YES.  Today, The Maccabees released details of their forthcoming 3rd album 'Given To The Wild' on their Tumblr blog, due to be released on January 9th.  The album follows previous albums 2007's 'Colour It In' and 2009's 'Wall of Arms'.  See http://themaccabees.tumblr.com/ for tracklistings.  And, just to make everything even more exciting, here is a teaser for you to enjoy:

Crystal Fighters - Still My Favourite New band

I have absolutely exhausted this bands new album 'Star of Love'.  Seriously, I am expecting it to spontaneously combust one of these days.  You can imagine my excitement when I got to see them at Reading, although I was actually working for Oxfam at the time, I got stuck at one of the tent poles (although this did give me a prime viewing position).  I love them.  Love.  This is my favourite little gem, enjoy.

Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans

Following her beautiful debut hit 'Video Games', Lana Del Rey has produced another stunning video to accompany her next single 'Blue Jeans'.  'I will love you til the end of time, I would wait a million years...' Lana croons on top of the beautiful vintage inspired images.  I am a great lover of beautiful cinematography and none do it better than Miss Del Rey at the minute.  Her inspiringly sad vocals brew up a hint of nostalgia.  Watch the video for 'Blue Jeans' here:

And, lest not forget, the amazing video that started Lana's success, 'Video Games':

The Dreaded First Post...

This blog has been a long time in the making.  I'm the type of person where, if something isn't 100% perfect, then I just refuse to run with it.  But, after much deliberation (and a little push!) I've decided that I need to have a little faith!

So, here it is.

I'm going to share my favourite latest fashions and music here.  I have debated over this too (what's new) but instead of settling for one concept I thought I would integrate my favourite two!  There are surprisingly not many blogs that do this so...challenge accepted.

So, my name is Kirsty.  I am 20 years old, originally from Northern Ireland but currently living in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne studying English Literature and Media.  I spend my time gigging, reading (mostly fashion magazines, I am a disgrace of an English student) and attempting to reinvent everything I own.  I love interior design, floral patterns and floaty materials.  Eventually the plan is to become a broadcast journalist because, as much as I love writing, I enjoy the pictures much more.

I hope you enjoy my rambles.
